Someone needs to teach the White House Press Corps the prisoner's dilemma

Instead of acting like cowards and acquiescing to White House demands for video and audio silence, they could band together and refuse to cooperate. It's absurd that they'd rather bring in sketch artists than form a meaningful coalition with each other.

These are the times when a strong, independent media is needed. I'm afraid we're left with something much more disappointing.

ever come from a White House briefing. It is an opportunity for the White House to spin its message its own way. So all the press corpse (yes, I know I spelled it wrong) has to do is simply refuse to attend.

2. Broadcasting the Trump administration is giving them a rope to hang themselves.

The media wings of the Trump administration (ex. Spicer, Trump's Twitter) have done more damage to the administration that I think anything else. That's the benefit of having open press access to the White House.

like InfoWars.

If you were in the prisoner's dilemma and knew that the other prisoner was a sociopath who wouldn't mind spending extra time in prison just for the pleasure of seeing you suffer, then you would play the game differently than if you assumed the other prisoner had a rational decision-making process.

5. Media should stop showing all those clips of him talking on Fox News, when other media can't film

This blackout is deliberate- takes focus away from the news reporters questions and WH problematic responses, so instead all of the media just resorts to showing those same Fox News interview clips and Trump tweets over and over- so Trump and WH get out their slanted dishonest message repeatedly without accountability from reporters.

7. We'd do as well if they just didn't show up.

What have we ever gotten out of these press conferences other than the entertainment of "the spicer show" via SNL. I can't remember hearing him actually ever answer a question. His job is to lie. He's a liar with anger management issues. It makes for great SNL but that's about it.

They should just stop showing up.
