Grayson, 6, Will Die Without Obamacare, Yet Pence Tweets Personal Responsibility

Grayson, 6, Will Die Without Obamacare, Yet Pence Tweets ‘Personal Responsibility’
A blogger whose son was born with an incurable genetic disease sneers at claim the GOP health plan is steeped in “personal responsibility.”
By Beth Dalbey (Patch National Staff) - Updated June 27, 2017 3:37 pm ET

KATY, TX — A Katy, Texas, mom whose family is facing millions of dollars in uncovered medical bills to care for their 6-year-old son's incurable genetic disease under Republicans’ plan to replace Obamacare, used an open letter on her blog to eviscerate Vice President Mike Pence over a tweet touting the GOP plan as a “system based on personal responsibility.”

Without Obamacare Protections, ‘He Will Die’

In its current form, the proposal is a death sentence, Baker wrote (emphasis original):

“If lifetime caps on insurance are allowed to be re-instated, and Medicaid is gutted, how is Grayson supposed to get the thousands upon thousands upon thousands of dollars (and honestly, it's likely millions) worth of healthcare products and services he needs to LIVE? Without access to the health care our private insurance and Medicaid provides, he will die.

I'd be willing to wager that people like Pence would justify themselves with statements like "That's all part of God's plan for Grayson. He'll be with the Lord when his time comes so he'll be better off and out of pain."

I want to puke every time I hear a minister/preacher/priest/etc. speak at a funeral and say how the deceased is in a better place now. How they are out of pain and living in bliss.

They are pro-death when it does cost them tax money that the rich want to blow in the wall street casino.

Republicans are class/economic terrorists.

This republican deathcare law will kill many more Americans than any foreign terrorist group could ever dream of.

Blow off the hungry, homeless, sick or dying with a callous un-Christ-like "personal responsibility" quip. That would be more like your Satan...

They hide behind the name of Jesus while they commit evil acts like Republican deathcare.

of what Jesus taught in the 4 gospels and fit the description of those he warned his followers to beware of.

I've known many good Christians but I've also known many wonderful Pagans, atheists and even a Satanist who were more like Jesus in the way that they care about the poor, the sick, anti-war, etc then these lying, hypocritical, anti-christ POS are.

just 'one' being. It's the name for the sadly large group of people who call themselves Christians yet are working against what Jesus and other 'christ-like' people worked lifetimes throughout history to help. They masquerade as 'angels of light' but are literally ANTI-christ.

I believe Jesus himself warned against this(I'm not religious but I pick up a few truths here and there)..

“Many shall come in my name …”

Just what is the nature of this deception? Notice Jesus’ specific warning: “Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many” (Matthew 24:4-5

Modern Bible versions often place quotation marks around “I am Christ,” the translators assuming that Jesus was talking about people who would claim to actually be the Christ or Messiah themselves. There have been such people, and Jesus warned later in the same discourse of “false christs” at the end of the age (Matthew 24:24

Yet there clearly have not been, as verse 5 requires, “many” such individuals who have been taken seriously—much less deceived the “many”—in the two millennia since Jesus said this. And there certainly has not been a great increase in such individuals in recent centuries—while there has been a marked increase in the other prophesied signs.

Some have proposed that Jesus was referring to false “savior” figures like the Roman emperors of New Testament times or Napoleon, Hitler, Mao and Saddam Hussein in the modern era. But this is stretching the concept of “the Christ” or “the Messiah” far beyond what Jesus’ disciples would have understood it to mean—the prophesied anointed king of the line of David.

Indeed, notice again that Jesus said, “Many shall come in my name “—His name being Jesus . Furthermore, they would come in His name, not with His name or bearing His name. In other words, they would presume to represent Him—not assume His identity

And, Holy Crap.. if that didn't happen. And, just look at the flock of suckers who vote against themselves in the name of the Anti-Christ.

I'm not either in that I follow a specific religion and it's practices but I find many '-ologies' like theology fascinating so tend to be a 'sponge' where they're concerned much as I suspect you are on topics of interest.

Anyway, that's great info and the CoC is a rather progressive one. From what I've learned and see human nature hasn't really changed that much since the Gospels were written which, IMO, is why the words supposedly spoken by Jesus still fit today and seem so very prophetic... and in this case rather unnervingly so. Now we just need to figure out how to counteract the affects of the brainwashing done.

and others who know the Gospels well standing up and challenging these anti-christ types message using the words Jesus supposedly said in the Gospels.

These types of followers aren't going to be reached with logic or mockery, IME they just dig in harder, but using the Gospels, to 'fight fire with fight fire' has been known to work a time or two and then we hope that the ripple effect takes a firm hold and quickly.

In my youth I never could figure how majority Christian America would get behind the anti-Christ when he appears but the election of Trump with 80% of the evangelical vote made it all too clear to me that Satan in the flesh when he comes along will have no problems in "Christian" USA.

The so-called "Christian" leaders and preachers who said God in heaven will destroy America because Bill Clinton was a leader with low morals elected a self confessed pussy grabbing, 3 times married, serial sexual predator/adulterer with no problems whatsoever.

A man that lies 10 times before breakfast at least, every day of his life. The SOB wouldn't tell the truth if it served him better than a lie just out of habit!

A man who worships money and power and is the personification of greed and vanity for all of his 70 years on this earth is their champion. A man in direct opposition to everything that Jesus of Nazareth taught as far as I can see.

And yet 80% of evangelicals voted for this swine of a man. Why?

For MONEY$$$$ and naked political power, that's why. That is their real god and Ayn Rand their false messiah.

And if given the chance the "pro-life" "christian" republican party will literally kill sick children and adults to feed their ravenous appetite for money and power on this earth.

why is the right so concerned that they suffer for it? We're not talking criminals here. Just people who do not have access to enough funds.

Reminds me of that asshole congress person who said to such a parent - pay for it with money you have earned.

May as well say only millionaires deserve to have their kids treated for serious illnesses.
