After normalizing his horrible behavior during campaign and frequently praising him, they (and then just Joe) continued to say that Trump had some good attributes but Trump's worst instincts were being encouraged by Bannon, Miller, incompetent staff etc. and if only Trump would stop listening to bad advisors, he could be a good President and all would be well. Joe continued giving Trump benefit of doubt and "advice" for several months, even after Mika had totally given up on Trump.

I'm dealing with what I have in front of me today. That doesn't mean I forget the past. Keep it going Mika. You are under his skin. Trump isn't going to be impeached for anything Russia related. He could be for threatening journalists, letting his impulse control get the best of him in an illegal manner, or instructing administration officials to take part in an illegal act. Mika is a useful tool for the highest bidder. Trump is out of clout. We can't plan for impeachment.
