Donald Trump is not well (Op Ed by Joe and Mika in WaPo)

Last edited Fri Jun 30, 2017, 06:42 AM - Edit history (1)

President Trump launched personal attacks against us Thursday, but our concerns about his unmoored behavior go far beyond the personal. America’s leaders and allies are asking themselves yet again whether this man is fit to be president. We have our doubts, but we are both certain that the man is not mentally equipped to continue watching our show, “Morning Joe.”

The president’s unhealthy obsession with our show has been in the public record for months, and we are seldom surprised by his posting nasty tweets about us. During the campaign, the Republican nominee called Mika “neurotic” and promised to attack us personally after the campaign ended. This year, top White House staff members warned that the National Enquirer was planning to publish a negative article about us unless we begged the president to have the story spiked. We ignored their desperate pleas.

The president’s unhealthy obsession with “Morning Joe” does not serve the best interests of either his mental state or the country he runs. Despite his constant claims that he no longer watches the show, the president’s closest advisers tell us otherwise. That is unfortunate. We believe it would be better for America and the rest of the world if he would keep his 60-inch-plus flat-screen TV tuned to “Fox & Friends.”

I've seen this type of childish, vindictive behavior, before, when dementia/Alzheimer's really started to take ahold of my mother's brain.

Only he did not become combative...but would cry and pout!....

I have worked with several Alz that showed this behavior and usually relates to stress. The more stress, the more vicious the behavior. And many are prescribed psychotropic meds because they present a danger to themselves and to their families.

For example, we had a former football coach who was a very big guy. His wife was a little thing and tried to take care of him at home as long as she could. The deciding factor was when he tried to use her as a football to make a touchdown....just saying....

Edit - Eugene Robinson just said it - he is not fit to be in the office of the President of the United States.

He may not be equipped to continue watching your show, but since you decide what goes on it, you're not equipped to continue airing it.

Go have a nice honeymoon, you two. For, say, the next thirty years. No rush for you to get back to work.

in the past year. That's pretty consistent with some kind of dementia taking over. Yesterday I was talking with a lady I've known for years. On the outside she appears completely normal and occasionally she can carry on a cogent conversation. But yesterday we carried on a gibberish conversation. And this has obviously gotten worse over the past 6 months.

The Donald Trump before the campaign was the same cruel manipulative liar

"You have me almost as a legendary figure, I like that," Donald Trump told Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.

And Joe and Mika have been his friend for over a decade.

And regularly had him on their show during the campaign - he thanked them for their support.

....I noticed that MSNBC couldn't stop talking about their outrage. They hyped and hyped that Joe and Mika would forego their day off to come on set and personally respond to Trump. I just had to miss it....

Another day in the life of American culture that is better viewed on DU than MSNBC. Thank you for the link and thread.

As long as cable news remains profit-focused, they're always going to prioritize controversy, repeat what prominent people and media say whether true or not, and avoid antagonizing people with power.

This was cleverly written to push all of Trump's buttons. The man is not well and he's spiraling into madness. Someone needs to do something to remove him from office before he does something that changes the world forever.
