Most New Yorkers would prefer living in Jersey than that however. Personally, I would choose Hoboken.

(10,005 posts)6. Gov. Cuomo Declares State of Emergency for NYC Subway
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Thursday declared a state of emergency for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), the public corporation responsible for NYCs mass-transit system. We are now beginning to see what happens when mass transit systems break down, the governor said. The emergency declaration allows the state to expedite the allocation of funding and the initiation of repairs for the system that has been hampered by delays, derailments, and power outages over the past several months. As part of his
pledge to fix the system, Cuomo announced an additional $1 billion in funding for the MTA.

(35,337 posts)8. How is it I just read a few days ago the ocean levels
increased 6mm in the last 10 years, that is only a quarter of a inch. I don't get how the state of Florida, NO and NY are
going to be under water in 40-50 years with a 1 1/4" raise in sea levels.

A new study published in Nature found that sea level rise shot up between 1993 and 2014 because of climate change.
The authors of the study calculated that in those two decades, there was a 50% in the rate at which seas are rising from about 2.2 millimeters per year in 1993 to about 3.3 millimeters per year in 2014.

let them know that there are real problems other than what DT45 is tweeting at 5am.
I realize it is not going to happen tomorrow but we as a party seem to have fallen into avoiding real problems.
