He needs to remind people how important it is to have a congress that will cooperate with him. Come on Mr President wake up your people. We have too many red Representatives in our blue states.

Might as well just hand the Senate over to the GOP if Obama starts preaching that way.
He won't do it, so no worries.
He needs to keep hitting on Switzerland, Bermuda, Caymans...gotta wonder if Mittsy has money in Kokomo, too! And he needs to keep hitting on Mittsy the Outsourcer, and GOP stooges trying to stop him from creating jobs in America.
Screw the party line approach--that's a clear way to loss. We are DEMOCRATS, not robots.
Politics are like sausage making. Enjoy the outcome but don't ask how they are made.
While nothing would please me more than to see the Democrats tell the Republicans to go screw themselves, that would be a "one night stand" which we would regret in the morning.
Blue states have the power if they vote blue we could hold the congress forever. You know the population thing?. The red states are a lost cause. You want our president to talk out of both sides of his mouth, I guess we disagree on this. Go blue party line vote...

(135,425 posts)senator. Hopefully we'll kick him out, but I -- unlike you--understand how politicians have to appeal to their constituents and not didactic, demanding people from outside their regions who do not understand the realities on the ground.

The lesson is this--in the words of the late, great Thomas P. O'Neill: All Politics is Local.
I did read your OP, and I simply reject your premise, is all.

Did I miss something in the definition of "democracy," you know, the root of the word "Democratic"--as in "Democratic Party"?
"Vote for democracy, support rule by the Party and what those in charge of the party think you should, if you had a clue what you should believe, would want. The Democratic Party is the people, the elected representatives are the Party, and the President is the chief elected representative. Therefore the President is the people, and we have a government of the people, by the people, and for the president ... uh ... people!"
Oh, please.
