Looking 2850-feet Down from Toroweap Point (Grand Canyon)

Colorado River float-trip camp below the north rim of the Grand Canyon, on the floor of the canyon. I was 2850 feet above the river (and the camp), leaning over a ledge at Toroweap Point. Working without a net. Again.
Look closely, and you can see people, kayaks, tents, and the big rafts. And riffles in the Colorado River.

And remember, this is with a 200mm telephoto lens!

And to put it into perspective, here is another shot from the same spot at Toroweap Point on the same day, looking up-river:

Glad I posted my very naive comment; getting these photos in your response was worth it.
Amazing color in the second one.

lease out any grass to thousands of sheep and cattle, put in hardtop roads & miles of fences, drill and frack- the land changes to bare sand, packed dirt very fast.

The land is so very fragile and easy to damage- there are places where the ruts from covered wagons are still visible. Outback dirt roads on OUR public lands where invasive weeds thrive on both sides of the road from car/trucks carrying seeds from tires.

Our public lands full of invasive species what's called 'cheat-grass' green in spring, with like little spike-seeds on it and in the fall dries to WILDFIRE tinder an off roader or lightening, a bullet spark off a rock- will start a WILDfire easy.
