Anyone watching MSNBC? Richard Engel doing a phenomenial job on Russia criminal history, dead

Russians - many more of them than we ever knew - how the country became the Russian mob; just getting into stolen money hidden in US and used to buy property here. I can see it leading right to Trump. Yeah, i love Rachel, but Richard is doing amazing work here.

Edited to add: doing a segment now on how Christian conservatives are falling in love with Russia - his words! because they consider Putin's values to be their values!!! "He is an honest person."
49% of repub voters consider Russia friendly or an ally!!!

He always gets good interviews because he relates to them in their own language.

As far as international news - what do you think is on CNN?
People make of point of watching CNN because they want the international news updates.
I think there's a big interest in international news, however it's not equally spread across our culture.

Richard Engel -- standing in for Rachel -- laid out two of the most important stories I've ever seen, heard, or read.

1. He laid out in detail the rise of Putin; Putin's connections with the Russian oligarchs; Putin's use of violence, terror, and murder; and, Putin's history of manipulating everyone.

2. Connections between US biblethumpers and Russia. US biblethumpers are climbing into bed with Russians because -- get this: "We share the same values -- opposition to gays and same-gender marriage!!!" And for that, they are throwing in with our mortal enemy.

Sickening...

Guns and religion: How American conservatives grew closer to Putin’s Russia - April 30

"Brown, president of the National Organization for Marriage, has visited Moscow four times in four years, including a 2013 trip during which he testified before the Duma as Russia adopted a series of anti-gay laws.

“What I realized was that there was a great change happening in the former Soviet Union,” he said. “There was a real push to re-instill Christian values in the public square.”

A significant shift has been underway in recent years across the Republican right.

On issues including gun rights, terrorism and same-sex marriage, many leading advocates on the right who grew frustrated with their country’s leftward tilt under President Barack Obama have forged ties with well-connected Russians and come to see that country’s authoritarian leader, Vladimir Putin, as a potential ally."

Much more...

Engel's whole segment which of course followed up behind Trump's meeting left me totally stunned. Tillerson's comments that even though we did not get a consensus on the hacking of the 2016 election (despite the fact so many of our security agencies state unequivocally Russia meddled), we must move past that and get on with other important matters. In other words, roll over and forget about it.

I could not believe that. Just move on. I also could not believe Putin asked for us to give him evidence of the Russian hacking. Like our security agents would do that....

At the end of the day today, I just kept thinking about Trump and Tillerson's conduct and my sense of anxiety over the future of our Country tremendously increased. I think Trump has failed to protect our interests and our security and everyday he sits in the Oval Office our freedoms are threatened. I know Mueller has to take his time to complete the investigations he is conducting, but it is unnerving to think we can continue like this for months if not years. Too much can get lost in that wait-time.

How does that happen? I am still scratching my brain. You have got to give him credit, Putin is brilliant, he knows those guys. Very scary-there is no reasoning with those guys. My sister-in-law was staying at my house and Inside Edition was doing a segment on Trump and she turned up her cell phone to drown out the Trump stuff.
