Sadly we can see the direction we are going and 30% of the country is cheering this on. Some of these people are even former cold war warriors, yet they are going back on everything they have claimed to abhor.
This situation shows me one of the great present day sins of our country. Our history is so filled with our own crimes against humanity, never talked about but still continuing to this day, we have yet to learn from these sins. We have actively sought out the path of stupidity because it is too hard to actually do the work and work to fulfill the promises of the ideals set forth in our Declaration of Independence.
The ancient model of power consolidating at the top for the top few in the population is still self-imposed on by the population of our country. We have a chance to truly be the progressive country, yet the 400 families of the world are defining our destinies and we are still allowing it. We are falling back to exactly what the framers specifically wrote out, mapped out the way to keep the few in power and our own selves to determine what we do with our lives. Everything they sought to do in the Constitution is being wiped away by less that 500 people intros country. We are having assignations on those that are different or seen as a "threat" to the rubes and Yay-hoos ways of lives. With the DeVos family in control of our children's education "The Handmaiden's Tale" and "Idiocracy" are here, today in this country.
We are putting ourselves into serfdom single day and will continue to do so until we truly take our government back for ourselves.
