Lest we forget - Trump and team never though they would win last summer

Much like OJ's and team at the verdict, the win was a shock. When you are down and out, all is fair.

When we now see the behind the scenes unfolding last summer, might be easy to forget Trump, Inc. a long shot at best back then. Which makes the almost unreal attempts to find a way to effect the election more believable. Without hindsight, why would they risk these Russian meetings, payola, and other election issues yet to unfold? Well, when you don't think you will win, much easier to take risks, especially when you have inflated egos, deep pockets and nothing to lose.

I don't think anyone, including Trump or Putin, thought he had a snowball's chance in Heck back in the summer and even, for the most part, into the general election. For example, I think the dossier explicitly states that in OCTOBER, Russia had given up hope that Trump would win.

If you look at it in this context, what appears to have happened makes total sense: Trump increases his odds of winning and the Russians inflict damage on HRC's Presidency even if Trump loses.

A deal made in Heck!

From Russia's perspective, inflicting damage on HRC's presidency might have been the only attainable goal

The irony is that if HRC had become President, it's doubtful that anyone would have investigated this.

Trump's "victory" on November 8/9 has backfired in a way that neither he nor Russia can imagine. It's the thing that opened this whole thing up.

cause he is sure inflicting a lot of misery on us. Of course, I'll feel a lot better if I get to see him in a nice, fashionable, orange jump suit complete with matching bracelets.
