FOX..gag.
For the last couple of weeks I have been tuning into FOX for ten or fifteen minutes each day (gag) to try to fathom how so many of my friends and family are so misinformed, (or just so downright stupid) as to believe that drumph is God’s chosen one to save America from the ungodly evil liberals.
And so it seems that whenever you see a story of another trump misdeed, lie, criminal activity, or ignorant and stupid tweet, on CNN or MSNBC, or any other mainstream media source. You can immediately tune into FOX and hear nothing of it at all, or a made up story of the shocking and horrible effort of the latest Democrat/liberal dirty tricks, and vicious lies to discredit our greatest president of all time who is fighting around the clock to undo the smoking wreckage and horrors of the Obama administration. Whenever “Fox Noise” wants you to forget that some despicable criminal republican politician who is under investigation and whom actually “IS” a Republican, they, ah, accidentally label him or her as a Democrat on their sub-title line, and let it go at that. Add that to the 24/7 hate radio e.g. Limbaugh, mark Lavin, and other well paid right-wing talk show hosts that in many instances are the only radio talk shows that ever play in rural America. Now you have the perfect storm of wingnut indoctrination that has been festering and infecting rural America for the last 30 years. So I would say that most of these (ignorant) people in our midst are not inherently evil or stupid, they are simply misinformed and gullible people who don’t know the political reality of our times, and don’t wish to hear any facts or logic that may contradict their "set in stone" beliefs. What to do about this? I just don’t know.

1. The public is just now getting a taste of what being under the thumb of the gop is all about.
Facts speak louder that those shitty rw bastards, it will take a little time but the truth will prevail.

6. I've been waiting 30 years for the truth to prevail
since Reagan got elected when I was 17. it's only gotten worse, and in the meantime, reasonable Centrists like my father have become gleeful conspiracy mongers.
the right has bought an entire alternate media system: nearly every talk radio station, no matter if it is profitable or not. the internet has further tilted the field to them. there is no system in place that can enforce honesty; the fairness doctrine was killed by Reagan. facts and reason are irrelevant to the majority of voters. emotions rule; that is what Trump knows and why he is president. |

11. Why is it that Fox News seems to align themselves with Trump's view of the Russian narrative?
I have not yet figured that one out.

2. they are willfully
misinformed. They know they are being hand fed lies. They don't care. It feeds into their predetermined world view. Nothing you say can or will change their mind. They do not retain information that counters their belief system.

5. We have to outnumber them at the polls...
The misinformed can be countered with facts for a person with a normal IQ. But not with these dimwits.

12. One thing the republicans do and do well is propaganda.
They've got that covered. They own the media. They own all the radio stations, they own the lions share of TV stations. Every book on nearly every bookshelf has a conservative bent to it. Yet they think somehow we're responsible for the bullshit being spread. It's their big lie.

13. A couple of days ago I tuned in and they were running the story of the NYC police veteran
who was murdered. At the end they went on a 5 minute rant how the 'liberal' media didn't cover it. They timed CNN at 45 seconds and MSNBC with no coverage at all.
All of this was a complete lie as Lawrence had a very long heartfelt tribute on the officer the night before. |
