It was reported that Manafort also updated his forms recently to include this meeting

Not sure of that dates when updated forms were submitted or whether Jared included fact that DJT Jr attended or how meeting came about.

However, for about the last 3 weeks conservatives have changed talking points about meeting with Russians - some have even said "not collusion to have met with Russians"

The change in talking points makes me believe NYT was in works for weeks and Trump team knew it was coming out so spread revised talking points.
