One was above board, the other multiple secretive contacts were notoriously unreported at congressional hearings and on security clearance documents. There also have been multiple on-the-record denials by Trump campaign staff that have since been amended or retracted as evidence has been uncovered determining such statements to be not just inaccurate and misleading but downright false.

Why highlight an episode from the Clinton campaign that so closely touches upon a Giant Red Flag for Trump (no pun intended)? Well I don't know. Maybe it's an attempt to dilute by mentioning Urkraine in other contexts.
