But that dog wants to keep the baby deer and raise it - or at least have a playmate.

Animals are amazing. I would love to be able to transform into a puppy and play with my own dogs as one of them.

I think he found a new buddy and didn't realize it was a deer (or that it needed saving). There was a definite play bow in there at the end.
