By ALLEGRA KIRKLAND Published JULY 19, 2017 10:13 AM
At least two former associates of President Donald Trumps campaign are struggling to pay hefty legal bills stemming from the congressional and federal probes into Russias interference in the U.S. election.
A person close to Michael Flynn told Bloomberg this week that the ousted national security adviser is establishing a fund to raise money for his defense. Covington & Burling attorney Robert Kelner is representing Flynn as investigators probe his lobbying work during the campaign on behalf of Turkey and his contacts with Russian officials.
Given that Flynn is the subject of an open criminal investigation, as former FBI director James Comey testified before Congress, his legal fees could easily amount to hundreds of thousands of dollars, according to Bloomberg.

(9,974 posts)Welllll....that's nothing that his kids getting a full time summer job can't pay off.
I was a single mom, my ex- contributed nothing to our kids' schooling. My one daughter did 2 yrs at our community college before transferring to a university and it was really nice to "only" pay $500/semester to take a full load of 12 credit hours each semester. That was 2 yrs of NO student loans for her to worry about later. She also worked full time at the movie theater..sometimes from 5pm til 1am.
My oldest daughter went to a 4 yr state university and has 4 yrs worth of loans... still worked 2 summers jobs at one time (a daycare during the day and Sonic in the evening) and occasionally 2 part time jobs during the semester. BOTH girls went graduated into good jobs, currently are living middle to upper middle class lives in the suburbs. Similiar lifestyles now, just different college routes.
From the article:
Lucky for them, Caputo said of those whose legal fees were covered by the campaign. And unlucky for me. And unlucky for my children who are now going to community college.
