Not necessarily. Are_grits_groceries Jul 2012 #5
Why would Freeh comply with that request? nt riderinthestorm Jul 2012 #4
The context suggested ongoing CRIMINAL investigations.... Junkdrawer Jul 2012 #6
Can GOVERNOR Corbett ask that though? Maybe when he was AG but why would he have any authority riderinthestorm Jul 2012 #7

Scott, Deal, Haley, and now Corbett. The people KNEW these shitstains were corrupt, yet they elected them anyway. There was a thread on DU yesterday that questioned the use of "stupid" regarding people with whom you disagree. Well, in these cases, if the shoe fits... And, shoe DOES fit. Anyone who knowingly votes for someone that corrupt, simply because he or she belongs to their party IS stupid. Too stupid for words.

If Freeh didn't go there, at least one other guilty party is going to walk.

By making this request, Corbett probably just dug his hole deeper. What better way to catch him in further bad acts?

Freeh has been in contact with the investigators as well as the NCAA and other parties. He turned over the emails to the Feds. They probably know who Corbett wanted to shield. Those people will be high on the list of those they question.

Because of the pending prosecutions. Several key witnesses were asked to be exempted from this study because it could negatively impact the criminal cases. Freeh didn't have subpoena powers, so complied.
