2. And why does he want to "pardon" himself and his family/friends?

It's only possible to pardon somebody if they're guilty, right?

If this is all fake news - or a witch hunt - then no pardons would be necessary.

Trump, Russia, and many republicans have been working on that coup for years.

But I think the OP's point is that Trump can't have it both ways.

This is obviously not fake news (or a witch-hunt), and Trump's actions are signs that it's all real.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-06-13/russian-breach-of-39-states-threatens-future-u-s-elections

Russia’s cyberattack on the U.S. electoral system before Donald Trump’s election was far more widespread than has been publicly revealed, including incursions into voter databases and software systems in almost twice as many states as previously reported.

In Illinois, investigators found evidence that cyber intruders tried to delete or alter voter data. The hackers accessed software designed to be used by poll workers on Election Day, and in at least one state accessed a campaign finance database. Details of the wave of attacks, in the summer and fall of 2016, were provided by three people with direct knowledge of the U.S. investigation into the matter. In all, the Russian hackers hit systems in a total of 39 states, one of them said.

we know that the man isn't going to change. And his trajectory is heading down, down, down.

The hopeful news is that the United States's immune system is kicking in to rid itself of this virus.

why the firing of Comey, and why the concentrated effort to slime Mueller and other members of the prosecution team? It's all fake news right? A witch hunt right? Democrats just retaliating for losing the election right? And why the frothing at the mouth over Sessions recusing himself? He should be delighted Sessions recused himself. Then the investigation can proceed without any semblance of impropriety, and can clear him and expose the whole thing as fake news like he said all along.

Every action, and I mean every action he has taken, has run exactly counter to his bluster and accusations. Not a single action he has taken is in line with what he has said.
