I never got more hate mail than I got for this song
https://myspace.com/thefreedomtoast/music/albumsListen to "When Johnny Comes Rolling Home," the #12 song on the "Republicans" album. It was written after we started suffering serious losses in the Iraq invasion, and no end seemed in sight. Republicans went ballistic when they heard that one.
The public's favorite was (and still is) "Stoop Low, You Media" on the "Democrats" album, with "Strangers On The Right" a close second. Bill Clinton's was (surprise!) "Bill Clinton is to Blame-O," but that's just because Obama wasn't on the political map yet. He was by the time we put our "Campaign 2008," but not all the songs from that album are up, including the Kennebunk Bushbillies. I was reminded of that by the Manhattan Trumpbillies thread. But "Barack The Knife" is up there for free, which even got a like from Michelle Obama at the time!
