Lockstep Shelley opposes her party when a bill is already dead and she has permission from Mitch.

In 17 years in Congress, she's never taken a bold stand on anything.

Remember when she turned on Trump after Access Hollywood, when conventional wisdom said he was a goner, only, once she saw the polls were still close and leadership decided they were fine with his continued candidacy, to go back to backing him?

Maybe now people will finally quit referring to her as a "moderate" and see that she's just a finger-to-the-wind coward.

If he went to bed having been assured he had the votes, and spent time tweeting a smug victory message from his bathroom in the morning before reading it failed!!?

13. Gleeful schadenfreude that McCain got to twist the knife.

"You don't like soldiers who get captured, do you? You probably also won't care for soldiers who survive that and come back!"

Then McCain pushes 45 off the rail where he falls endlessly into that Star Wars chasm...
