Admissions from the call center, part 2. Kaspersky

In my call center job, I have been directed to assuage fears over customers who have Kaspersky installed.

If I gave my honest opinion to my customers who have Kaspersky currently as their Internet Security software, I would tell them to immediately uninstall the software, Wipe their hard drives clean to NSA standards, and reinstall Windows from the beginning. ANY computer with Kaspersky installed should be treated as having the worst rootkit and other malware infected and be treated as a pariah on any local area networks.

My opinion, but I am not allowed to give it to my customers.

That's what I have. I do not have the skills to uninstall, wipe my hard drive clean, reinstall Windows. Seriously? We are all expected to be high level computer techs?

Look, I drive a stick shift car, but I still don't change the oil or do any of the other maintenance it requires.

Since I've bought my computers at Best Buy and have the Geek Squad thing, should I just call them? If they try to tell me Kaspersky is just fine, what do I insist they do?

Oh, and if they have to re-install Windows, which was done a couple of months ago when my hard drive crashed, I take it I'll once again lose everything, so I'd better start saving anything I actually want over to a thumb drive.

At least those little things have gotten amazingly cheap.

Security Software is urban myth and BS. I am no fan of Russia but I do believe Kaspersky can provide a high level product that works. I use 2 other Security Software programs and have confirmed this to be true.
