I hope they are the longest, most miserable 6 months of his entire life and he never gets over them.

Six months is the max but he has not been sentenced and will not be sentenced until October. It is very doubtful he will be sentenced to any time at all. I practiced in AZ for 11 years and no one who has no criminal record and is found guilty of a misdemeanor is sentenced to jail

Yet, it seems that some of the most egregious chronic abusers of the law are the same ones most able to escape any real justice when they're finally hauled into court.

I really do understand about the narrow focus on specific charges, sentencing standards, etc. It's just a crying shame that outcomes are so often a travesty. The downtrodden so often bear the full brunt of the severest punishment, while the privileged get a mere pat on the wrist.
