Because I can't do jack shit about the end of the world and because petting a cat makes a lot of the worry go away.
International Cat Day is a full 24 hours of recognition and veneration of one of humanitys oldest and most beloved pets. The festivities were put together for the first time in 2002 by IFAW, the International Fund for Animal Welfare, among other animal rights groups, to celebrate the most popular pet on the planet.

(3,163 posts)So, yes, he is a gray tabby. One of my favorites too. I've had several, including one named Freddy when I was in high school who was 22# and utterly awesome.
Our Molly is still going strong four years and several months after diagnosis with lymphoma in her upper intestine. That's after surviving heartworm, throwing a clot that damaged a kidney and reduced her to 20% kidney function, and several serious bouts of pancreatitis. She had chemotherapy and still gets pills twice a day but takes them very peacefully and is in all respects a very happy cat. Cats, calico cats in particular, are truly amazing creatures.

(4,492 posts)Named, well Tabby. If he lived for 6 more weeks, I joked around about getting him registered to vote (he crossed the bridge 6 weeks shy of 18). He was very affectionate, talkative, and LOUD. I miss that loud, drawn out meow. I don't know if I can ever have another gray tabby.
Don't know how to post pics here but he's the profile pic in my Etsy store.
