(6,377 posts)Someone suggested "Remarkable You". I wish I could remember who it was so I could give them credit.
I think it's the best idea I've heard for the Dems slogan since Yes We Can.

(6,344 posts)I think we expect our political party to support us. Support, not expecting government to do it all.

(14,565 posts)Took me only a few minutes to think of it, when someone posted a thread asking for slogan suggestions, since there was so much criticism of the recent long winded one.
I felt compelled to offer something since I ridiculed the official offering.
There's far too much reliance on standard framework. That's what has always struck me about slogans and nicknames and similar. Apple's "Think Different" is phenomenal because it transfers from generation to generation and can mean just about anything. Everyone wants to assign creative thought to themselves, in one area or another.
Likewise "Remarkable You" could attach to the Democratic Party forever. How are Republicans going to denounce or counter it? No chance.
I think I suggested closing commercials with something like, "As always, the Democratic Party believes in Remarkable You." That can be campaign after campaign.
The problem with political slogans is tunnel vision obsession with sticking issues in there, or something directly related to here and now. That's incredibly weak and limited. It should be something big picture and memorable.
I have strengths in some areas and blatant weaknesses in others. Words and phrases I'm good at. I always find myself scoffing at commercials that rightfully should be so much better.
