Trump's repetitious diction drives me up a wall. Not just the repeated words,

but the repetition of whole phrases and sentences--and the nonstop use of "very."

He also latches on to a hyperbolic rhetorical pattern and then applies it to every situation.

For a while everything was "the greatest . . . in the history of. . . ."

Now it is "the likes of which the world has never seen."

and phrases and uses them all the time. It's not just irritating; it's depressing - because it shows that the person who is supposed to be the head of our government is intellectually shallow and uses his small collection of words only to glorify himself.

language is a symptom of progressing dementia.

If you watch videos of him from the past, you can see that although he was never a particularly smart man, he was once able to string words together in a way that made more sense.

He is the same age that his father was when his Alzheimer's became evident.

If you ever hear tapes of him from years past, like when he was on Howard Stern's show, you realize this is a relatively new pattern of speaking.

It is a childish and ignorant vocabulary.

Someone is likely compiling a list of this repetitive and meaningless verbiage.

On my list:

"I can tell you this" or "That I can tell you"

"Beautiful.....(cake, healthcare bill, you name it)"

And I really enjoy the media bashing his insane actions, but in all honesty, I hate it when they all say "Look".

Be it that hideous woman in press briefings, or any of a number of guests on these shows.

If you made a drinking game out of it, you would be unconscious by the end of just about any news show.

I am not a child, dammit. I am watching you on the fucking show, you don't have to scold me into "looking". WTF?

I have many peeves about the continuing destruction of English grammar on TV in general.

I should stop now!

He's not much of a thinker in any event, but this constant repetition of the same small words and simple phrases tells me he can't think on his feet. Despite his claims of a prestigious education and advanced degree, Trump is an intellectual midget who has learned to compensate by relying on a limited number of stock words to cover up his ignorance.
