He's destroying their party and he's dangerously close to war.
What's it gonna take?

(17,984 posts)Yes, we admit that the person you morons picked to lead our party is a raving lunatic. Sorry folks, but you asswipes have the combined IQ of a lump of green putty, so we are stepping in to correct your massive (and I do mean massive) mistake. Please vote for us again next year. Remember to vote early and often! Go GOP!
It's party over country any day with these schmucks. It's denial over facing reality any day, too.

(34,661 posts)Never followed Trump over the decades because I recognized him as a spoiled brat and after decades of Business Dealings with a few like characters, just figured he would fall flat on his face. And that is about to happen.
Trump has forged a alliance with the Koch Brothers in order to do his best to trash our Country. And yes,Trump only refers too or talks to the Freedom Caucus, which are aliened with Pence and the Freaked out Religo-Militia-whacko's. End of the day,you have a Whacko President talking to his Whack Job followers.
Someone who grew up in the forties, there were a few of these so called Charismatic Persons doing the same thing, they preyed on the ignorant impoverished for their day to day existence. BTW,they were tent Preachers traveling what was called the circuit.

(4,033 posts)Wife (who has her ABD* degree in history) and I were talking about how they don't even teach Civics in school any more. Our 12 yo granddaughter (who, by the way, is in the Jr. National Honor Society) piped up and said: "What's Civics".
And people wonder why I often wander around sobbing.

*ABD = All But Dissertation.
To give you an idea of how far we have sunk, she made a conscious decision NOT to finish her PhD because she felt that actually getting it would make her pretty much unemployable.

(13,419 posts)If the Republican Congress goes after 45, the party will turn on them. The ones that don't lose primaries will be routed in the general election. So, the Republicans in Congress can either choose to stand with the country or stand with their party. At present, they have chosen their party over the country.

(37,428 posts)...which is all about power these days. Most of the GOP "leaders" not only don't want to begin dismantling their machine, their paymasters won't allow it.

(22,976 posts)And for all its bluster and all the bodies it gerrymanders into congress, the GOP isn't doing so well at seeing eye-to-eye with most of the U.S. population.
The opportunities are getting richer for Democrats. The problem: surviving until then. Next problem: stop Democratic infighting!

(1,242 posts)I think you and others may want to start accepting Trump is President Trump .... just my opinion of course .
Until such time as the country punishes, SEVERELY, the GOP in the ballot box.
But, as long as Ryan and McConnell are in charge, nothing is happening to 45.

(1,242 posts)If you think about it Ryan and McConnell probably would rather work with Pence ........ but not going to happen

(5,810 posts)and they might start giving thought to ousting him any way they can. Every day of this sh*t show gets nuttier as we go. Who would have thought by the end of this week, Dear Leader would be threatening military action in Venezuela? 👀
Is it just me or is the job starting to go to his already inflated ego? He seemed especially pleased with himself standing there with Tillerson, Haley and McMaster, bloviating about how the Little Pipsqueak in North Korea better not even hint at doing or saying anything or really bad things will fall out of the sky and part his hair down the middle. 😱
