How Does Our Present Situation In US Compare Ot Other Crises In History?

Now I am 73 and a history buff. And I am wondering how our predicament in the US today compares to the rest of the crises our country has faced. How bad was it in the past and how does it compare to what we are facing right now. Granted we now have a second terrible president in a very short time. What if Mccain/Palin had won then followed by Trump?

Feels like the US is up for grabs in so many ways.

I have never seen anyone in an elected position of authotrity behave this way.

I have never witnessed the surrounding officials from government to military to the 4th estate be so absolutely impotent in controling this
monster.

I think the Cuban Missile Crisis was probably worse.

Oh, and then there was that whole Civil War thing.
