It is a true story, in France in the 70th.
A teacher sent a letter to the Social Security fund, explaining she was pregnant and was expected to give birth in january. The letter was sent in september.
A few days later, she received an answer from the fund asking her : january of which year...
Maybe cow elephants were also covered ? 
However, we have more than our fair share!

Another one. This time here in Belgium in 2001 or so. After 2 months waiting, a pissed of customer asked his internet provider when he will be connected.
He received answer letter full of apologies, promissing that, in any case, he will be connected at the lastest on.... 12/31/99.999 
By the time you mentioned January I was already going in circles.

I meant France in the in the seventies.
It might be better if I switch "syringis" nickname to "SerialEnglishLangageBeater"
