1. He's a cornered animal. I don't expect rationality.

He will lash out if sufficiently provoked, but he will not strike first.

I really hope cooler heads prevail.

Much of his bluster is designed for his own people to hear.

The most important thing to the regime is the preservation of the regime. Anything we do to them hurts the common people first and worst.
