Most racists do not believe that whites are 'superior.' (In fact, a racist will often jump to his defense by claiming he believes Asians are better than whites. Smarter, more responsible etc. They'll say that right after they claim to be 1/16th Native Indian, and therefore can't possibly be a racists...)

No, racists believe that certain, specific other races are inferior, or deeply flawed, and therefore need to be kept in their place. At least out of my neighborhood. At most, in jail, or out of the country. That's always been the belief, but these days racists are trained to rationalize it by saying:

"blacks aren't inherently more violent, criminal or immoral than 'other' races. It's just that they've never learned any self discipline or morality thanks to...er....thanks to our LIBERAL, POLITICALLY CORRECT educations system, and...the DEMOCRATIC PARTY'S WELFARE STATE. Yeah, that's the ticket."

The belief that blacks are more immoral, violent, and criminal; but liberals and Democratic politicians are to blame, is a dog-whistle that the GOP has been blowing since LBJ and the Civil Rights Acts. They've been using it for cheap, short-term political gain; and they need to be called on it EVERY TIME THEY USE IT. It's created a toxic political stew that will soon turn America into Iraq. Balkanized, with people showing loyalty to cultural TRIBES, rather than ideals.

Racism, however, is simply the belief that you can prejudge a person based on their appearance or genetic makeup. See a middle eastern-looking man (like Daryll Issa, for example) walking through an airport? More likely to be a suicide bomber. Better strip search him. See a black man driving an expensive car (like Barack Obama, for instance)? More likely to be a drug dealer. Better run his plates.
