The paper ran my LttE with no changes
I submitted it last week and had given it up for being too inflammatory for delicate wingnut ears, but then Charlottesville apparently gave them a callus.

The Preamble to the U.S. Constitution lists our national goals, among which the one we are sorely missing the most under Donald Trump is “domestic Tranquility.”
His bizarre character and psychological traits would rule out an applicant from most responsible jobs, but apparently not U.S. president. After seeing for ourselves and hearing from people who knew him for decades we aren’t even interested any more.
We have settled into the following daily drill:
1. He drops some unthinkable verbal bomb on our domestic tranquility.
2. We are shocked, have never thought this could happen, think nothing can possibly be worse.
3. By the evening or the next morning, we are stunned, wondering if life is going on.
4. Then the pundits are peering into his “mind” to credit him with strategizing.
5. Numbness ensues briefly, which we now think is normal.
6. He drops another incredible bomb, much worse than the one before!
7. Start the drill over.
