If a majority of the Republican House caucus wanted to impeach Trump (which is numerically possible without the Freedom Caucus) Ryan could then bring it to the House floor where impeachment could pass with added Democratic votes.

I doubt Ryan has the backbone to pull it off, though. Of course, a total meltdown by Maniac In Chief could force his hand. For instance, he may publically come out in support of David Duke, possibly even putting him in a cabinet position. That would probably do it.
