Hey, CEO's: Trump is choosing his future oligarchs. Will you be one?
Since the election Trump has un-leveled the playing field for businesses. He called out Carrier to put fear into your hearts: I can drop your stock price in a day. So you caved.
And now you're on Trump's business council.
The council is just a petri dish for Trump for winnow out the CEO's that will be loyal to him no matter what. He will give them favors and his competitors will get called out for crimes they didn't commit. And, god forbid, Trump might even change the rules in their favor: autocrats love monopolies.
Trump has divided the business community because he needs to have only loyalists in his corrupt administration.
