He doesn't have to appease little Donny, because Trump can't fire him. He could take a stand now, but he won't, which means he's just as much of a Nazi sympathizer as Trump is.

It does because it has so many idiots for followers/supporters.

If we get rid of the current crop of leaders, we still have the great mass of fascist pricks -- who placed the current leaders into power -- to contend with.

he didn't quite answer the question specifically. He said that he stands by the President's words (or something like that).
Trump had lots of words in many different directions - so we don't know what he meant. He chose to answer so neither side could call him out on anything. A coward.

after mentioning tragedy and heart breaking - that he stands with the President and he stands by those words. By saying that, he is giving himself an out. He did not mention specifically "good people" or anything about the Civil War generals and the founders of this nation.

He left himself wiggle room.
