I have a simple solution for the confederate statues: The "Benedict Arnold"-solution.

Let's introduce a bill for the following:

- Monuments, statues, plaques or other commemorative art of people/institutions/organizations who committed treason against the US may not be displayed in public venues.

- If such an object is on display in a public venue, it is to be transferred to a private venue such as a museum or storage-facility.

- Alternatively, the object is to be modified to no longer refer to people/institutions/organizations defined in paragraph 1.

This is the statue commemorating Benedict Arnold's victories for the US. As you can see, his own monument does not refer to him.

as a National Holiday. Call it National Surrender Day to celebrate the end of the Civil war and end of slavery.
Great way to remind us of our culture.
