Our building just went on lock down (Mid-Wilshire, Los Angeles)-UPDATE ALL CLEAR

2 Buses in the middle of Wilshire Blvd. One parked at curb and one sitting across lanes. Bomb squad and their dogs just arrived.

UPDATE - All clear. Bomb squad and dogs checked 2 buses, one that pulled across Wilshire. Will probably never know but streets are opened again and the buses have been moved.

Thanks for all the good thoughts.

Unless I'm reading the wrong one, too.

They get so many bomb threats.

A bomb scare in the Carthay Circle area of Los Angeles prompted the closure of Wilshire Boulevard as authorities investigated the scene.

Los Angeles police responded to a radio call of a suspicious package on a Metro bus near Wilshire and Crescent Heights boulevards at about 10:30 a.m.

A person yelled that a passenger on the bus had a bomb and ran out.

The bus was evacuated and the street was closed between Franklin and La Jolla avenues.

Officers have cordoned off the area.

The call for the threat came in before noon. The bomb squad is in route, Madison said.

Police believe the bus has emptied, but could not confirm that was an absolute.

The threat call was made in a busy area of Los Angeles near the Miracle Mile, close to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, L.A. Brea Tar Pits and the location for the planned Academy museum.
