Non 45 news, SCOTUS may break unions.

They are deciding whether or not union members should be forced to pay union dues (closed shop). This could have a very negative impact on unions, especially in CA and NY. Reagan pretty much killed unions now this will be another nail in their coffin.

Is because Scalia died. If the issue comes back to the court with Gorsuch* you can kiss public sector unions goodbye.

I was in a union, NALC, which works under these rules and is doing fine. This thing about breaking unions probably comes from the right, which wants to demoralize them so they can be broken.

Not really a good try.

Actually Right to Work laws have successfully busted unions in the south and midwest. Its not a hoax from the right.

Fortunately in NY, Cuomo announced this yr that he will allow union dues to be deducted from taxes. Which is a nice counter attack, if they are fully deductible.
