Pics of Auschwitz prison guards during their time off from mass killing

Laughter lines the faces of camp staff as they prepare for a sing-song.

The photos were taken between May and December 1944, and they show the officers and guards of the Auschwitz relaxing and enjoying themselves — as countless people were being murdered and cremated at the nearby death camp. In some of the photos, SS officers can be seen singing. In others they are hunting and in another a man can be seen decorating a Christmas tree in what could only be described as a holiday in hell. The album also contains eight photos of Josef Mengele — some of the very few existing snapshots taken of the concentration camp’s notorious doctor during the time he spent ther

I guess as a mother I have a hard time seeing another mother doing something this horrible.

And the laughing... horrible.

If you are interested I suggest the autobiography of a Jewish survivor from Auschwitz:

Gerta Weissman Klein's All But My Life

Gerta kept photos of her parents and her brother in the ski boots her mother made her wear when they were forced to leave their home. She said wearing those warm boots was one of the ways she survived. Her parents and her brother were murdered.

it says most of the women pictured were support staff, clerks, typists and other administration. They were also mostly single and “Their racial purity had been established—should an officer be looking for a girlfriend or a wife"

I have one 3 houses away.....normal looking, but his eyes just can't seem to disguise the hate coming from his soul. When Wayne and I are on Wayne's deck drinking beer, usually on the weekend, he always sidles down to try to get us to enter into a discussion and I suppose just to accept him as a neighbor. If he starts something, Wayne and I start talking about the outrage of a trump prezidency. He either talks about something else or sooner or later goes away. Wayne's sig other...hates his guts . Oh did I mention he doesn't know he's an full blown alcoholic. He stopped drinking cans and cans of beer because "he was drinking too much beer". Now it's wine. This guy is very unhappy with life.....that's why I watch him closely, all the time when he is in the area....

It became like a job on a factory floor to them, the people in the camp were nothing but cattle to them.

Make no mistake, many went along with it because they knew if they didn't they would not be too long for this world, there is an element of that and that is what happens under nazism, you are either part of it or you are dead to them and you can see that heavily in Trumps rhetoric too and in every dictators rhetoric, you either comply or die.

Those who went willingly to work in those places and you can bet it was the fervent nazi's that did, man or woman all deserved the same fate as the poor bastards incarcerated there of being shovelled into one of those ovens.

That is why you cannot allow nazism or dictators to flourish because the simple truth, if you allow them a voice to take away yours and make no mistake, your voice will not be the only thing taken.

Sometimes free speech such a fervent nazism has to be suspended so that society may survive in the long run.
