Chevy's new car return guarantee can be waived for a savings of up to $500
Chevrolet's new willingness to let consumers return new vehicles within two months of the purchase comes with a twist.
If you give up the right to return the vehicle, you'll pay $500 less for most 2012 and 2013 Chevys. For the two smallest models, the Sonic subcompact and Spark mini car, the rebate is only $250.
It's a roundabout incentive of sorts for new-Chevy buyers who are willing to give up General Motors' "Love it or Return It" guarantee through the new Chevy Confidence program, which ends Sept. 4. Chevy is also offering no-haggle pricing on 2012 models.
The campaign is aimed at proving Chevrolet's faith in the improved quality of its products. Marketing leaders said the deal was not designed to clear 2012 models off dealership lots.
