Can you say.. "Brokered Convention"?

Rmoney is getting no love from his party on this Bain/tax issue. I'm wondering if this is a poison pill for his campaign, and the GOP is hunkering down to see if they can find a savior at the convention.

Either way.. I'm loving it!!!

He'll pass on this shit sandwich until 2016. I would think the preferred sacrifice would be an overly ambitious and not too bright second stringer.

Someone good enough to preserve the down line candidates, and possibly pull off a miracle.

Smart contenders will likely see that this election is almost impossible, especially starting a campaign with 5 weeks left before a general election.

I just hope that the Obama campaign is holding back the really good dirt until after the convention and when it's too close to the election for the GOP to switch candidates.

They will be the key to forcing a brokered convention.

Happened right before the Nebraska Primary . . .paul has a plurality in 4 states . . . If he gets Nebraska tonight - he gets to have his name entered at the Convention. He only needs five.

Let the games begin.

10. I recently read "Destiny of the Republic" by Candice Millard,

and her description of the the contentious 1880 Republican convention was just amazing.

At an exhausting point when more than 30 ballots had been cast, Garfield rose to speak out against the chaotic “human ocean in tempest” he was witnessing. He injected a voice of reason. “I have seen the sea lashed into fury and tossed into spray, and its grandeur moves the soul of the dullest man,” he said. “But I remember that it is not the billows, but the calm level of the sea, from which all heights and depths are measured.”

Delegates began unexpectedly throwing their votes to Garfield. He had not been a presidential candidate; now suddenly he was the Republican nominee. When he and his family were swept into the White House, Garfield wrote: “My God! What is there in this place that a man should ever want to get into it?”

Of course, today's Republicans don't show a lot of ability at listening to reason, but history could repeat itself this year.

It was a great read by the way...
