He will never have moral authority because he lost it the moment he pushed the birther meme years ago!
He will never heal or bring the "country together" because over 1/2 the American people know he is a bigoted liar who is as disingenuous a person as you will ever meet (and I have no desire to meet him).
He is already destined to go down in history as an unstable joke, and if he lasts 4 years without getting impeached or resign...he will be remembered as the worst and most unqualified president in U.S. history.

(13,420 posts)That return will open happen if he remains in office so they have to prop him up as much as possible given hw he wrecks his presidency every single day.

(9,313 posts)..."everybody knows" things they can't let go of.
Of course DT will change his tune when he gets in office. And when that didn't happen, they hang onto their certainty that he'll "have to" change his tune sooner or later. It's right up there with a host of a other crap they "know." Of course Dem candidates must pivot right after the primaries if they want to win.(Even though it is crystal clear that sticking with their principles and showing the courage of their convictions is what wins people over.) Of course Americans want bipartisan compromise. (Even though spineless compromise is clearly NOT what the electorate wants.) Everybody knows universal health care is a loser, and anyone who advocates it will get killed at the polls. Of course Bernie Sanders is too extreme to get traction with anybody but the fringe. Of course... Of course...
For the most part the MSM is truly lousy at observing political dynamics objectively and seeing and analysing what is actually happening. They already "know" how it all works. It's group think run rampant.
