Pardon a sign of 'worse to come'

BY BRANDON CARTER - 08/26/17 09:12 AM EDT

The former director of the Office of Government Ethics ripped .. Trump for pardoning .. Arpaio, calling it "vile" and a "racist, pro-authoritarian gesture."

"What POTUS says 'exemplifies selfless public service' is: dehumanizing inmates, racial profiling, and gleefully defying a court order,"Walter Shaub tweeted Friday night. "Every one of you WH staffers owns this disgusting, un-American, racist pro-authoritarian gesture forever like it was tattooed on your forehead."

"This pardon also departs from procedural norms. And as an affirmative act by POTUS, it reveals an emboldening. A harbinger of worse to come" ...

Can Kelly and Mattis be trusted to oust the cancer and NOT convert to a military junta?
WE (the people) are well and truly fucked...there is no longer a rule of law in America if you are on the preferred team...if you're not? Let's just say I expect the rounding up of dissidents to start soon...

We just have to DEMAND that they be exercised.

If that means screaming impeachment at our elected Representatives whenever they DARE show their faces in public, then that's what it means.

The only way anything is going to change is when it becomes inconvenient for all the players to have things continue the way they are. That includes the big orange fathead; I've said from Day One that he is NOT leaving until HE chooses to go.

This asshole is blowing through his so-called friends in Washington. The rethugs on the Hill are losing patience with his insane antics pretty quickly. They provided him cover previously, but at the rate he's going, he will have alienated anyone left there who could possibly save him from himself and from being ousted before his term is up, because the entire thing is blowing up in all their faces and he's now more of a liability than a useful idiot.

Besides, aren't there some legal restrictions and conditions that have to be met in any pardon? While the POTUS may well have the right to grant a pardon, but if the conditions aren't met by the pardoner and the pardoned person, this may not have the force of law.

Nothing will happen before then, and the hope of the Grand Experiment lies with a lot more than us here to wtfu in a REALLY big way and clean republicans out of office.

Basically, about a 1 In 1,000 chance, at best.

Moderate Democrats get onboard with the rightwing tax plan and infrastructure, of course they will also approve debt ceiling increase, and with McCain and Menendez out from the Senate we may well see a repeal of the ACA after all, sad but the odds are increasing everyday, I wish Democratic Reps would start to get angry, it is past time to show emotion to the destruction of the USA>

Hey buddies, don't let Mueller rattle you, keep up the lies, protect me and I will pardon you before you are ever convicted. I'd be amazed if that call hasn;t already been made.
