This is a link to a headline article at Talking Points Memo by Alice Ollstein. She details the many conflicts that are facing the GOP this fall and how the conflicts between Trump and Congressional leaders have stalled any meaningful advancement of the Republicans' agenda:

Two paragraphs highlight that Trump is a phony when he claims that he can make "great deals" as president:
And whether he was demanding swing vote Sen. Shelly Moore Capito (R-WV) promise to vote for a bill shed never seen before riding on Air Force One, or dispatching a cabinet member to threaten Alaskas Republican senators with cuts to their states funding, or generally treating lawmakers like his underlings instead of a co-equal branch of government, Trump proved himself unable to use carrots or sticks to get any bill across the finish line.
Trump is a fraud.

I mean, come on: let your sterling qualities speak for themselves. Obama always did.

(22,035 posts)"I'm, like, really rich." Really rich people would never say such a thing.
"I'm really smart." Smart people know that there is much they do not know; they would not make such a claim.
"I'm the least racist person you'll ever meet. Believe me." When someone says they are not something, say, a bigot, you can usually be sure that they are that thing.
When I see all of the bad things that Trump represents, I'm aghast that 60+ million Americans voted for him. It's heartbreaking.

Would be wrong to say he doesn't negotiate - he has a style and it has worked for him as a real estate developer.
