Houstonians know our local Gallery Furniture owner Jim McIngvale. He is a Libertarian style Republican. However, he has opened his 3 stores to be used as shelters and they are BIG. Considering most evacuees are wet, I'm sure thousands of $$$ of furniture will have to be scrapped.

and I see this as at least 50% self-interest - lots of money to be made in replacing all the trashed furniture around town.
