Really, I had stayed away from CNN until this past year until DRUMPF (I'm switching to "Twitler" ) started attacking them. My reason was that my impression was it was a bit staid.
Anyway, LEMON I heard was a bit of a twit, but I don't think so!1 In my recent few months monitoring, he's sharp as a tack and calls all the wingnut b.s. for what it is. I'm usually listening to our ideological enemies, not liking to hear what we want to hear. But this fellow is not a parrot.
As for Ana NAVARRO, she's been *brutal* on DRUMPF and I love it, but I'll say it repeatedly, what did she *expect* from the beginning of all these years when she is a Repuke?!1 Yeah-yeah, the Cuban thing (from the past).

(1,148 posts)CNN's problem is they set every segment up as a wrestling match. They pay both sides. Same formula every time.

(7,006 posts)Have been RIGHTLY BRUTAL on Cheeto Trump by telling that truth every time they are on. Richard Painter is another Republican not timid in the least of calling Cheeto out. In our STRONG opinion, Don Lemon Show is the best thing in Cable News Right Now w/ Anderson Cooper as a strong second.

(381 posts)NBC did the same shit fucking over Tamron Hall and replacing her with Fox News Megyn Kelly.
Chris Cuomo is awesome, and sharp as a tack, nothing like bimbo Megyn Kelly, no comparison.
Just leave Don Lemon where he is like WTF?
Cuomo is on in the morning. I've not heard this.
Bladewire
(381 posts)Lemon made a comnent to talking heads on his show the other day. Trump was blaming everybody for his failures. Lemon said (I'm paraphrasing) "If my show fails it's my fault, it's on me I'm not going to blame others". This was after Cuomo had been replacing him for a few days.
Don Lemon is more of a man than Trump.
cwydro
(51,308 posts)Haven't seen him replaced by anyone.
Bladewire
(381 posts)They take time out of Anderson Cooper's slot to test Cuomo before Lemon to see how he rates.
This is how the business works. They'll never get rid of Cooper, this is to test ratings on Cuomo vs Lemon
cwydro
(51,308 posts)No idea why you're pushing this rumor, which I've seen NOwhere else than this thread.

(381 posts)Post something productive and informative instead of insultes please. You clearly aren't a Don Lemon fan and don't watch his show every night or you'd know what I'm talking about.

(3,635 posts)so I don't think they would replace him.
Here's what I found about this:
While Anderson Cooper is away, CNN is borrowing an hour to test Chris Cuomo.
The show, titled Cuomo Prime Time, features a unique look and brand, building off the brick and cityscape view inside Studio 71 at Time Warner Center. The studio is also home to Cuomos regular show, New Day, along with Outfront.
Right now they have Anderson on for two hours then Don Lemon on for two, so maybe they'd simply take some time out of each one to make room for Cuomo.
I hope they don't get rid of Erin Burnett either, I like her.
Bladewire
(381 posts)I wish I could remember the day but Trump was blaming others for his failures and Lemon said if his show failed it was his fault and he wouldn't blame others. Don Lemon is more of a man than Trump.
I'll search YouTube and see if I can find the clip and post it here.
I saw that show, and dang, you sure missed the point on that one.
Lemon is not going anywhere. Not sure what "don't gets it" means.

(3,635 posts)of anything.
And if Cuomo's show becomes permanent it would be in prime time, not the later slot (10pm-12am) that Don is in now.
Right now Anderson and Don are on 2hrs a piece, they could always reduce each time slot to make room for Cuomo and/or someone else, and/or extend their lineup to 1am.

(51,308 posts)Seriously? You might want to drop this line of argument. I don't think you realize how insulting you're being as you try to compliment someone. "Sharp Gay black man"? Oh lordie, cannot believe I'm reading this here. Ugh.

(51,308 posts)Because a straight black man would be ok and not unique? Or a gay white guy?
You know Rachel is gay too right? And Cooper. We are NOT unique...we are just the same as everyone else, but go ahead with this patronizing nonsense.
I'll bet there are gay people right in your circle...you probably just don't know it.

(26,060 posts)(as if that gives anyone credibility) and I think you're being far too sensitive about someone commenting on the obvious. 20 years ago, hell, 10 years ago a gay black man wouldn't have the kind of show Lemon has. Period.

(51,308 posts)Allow me to praise you for your time here. Perhaps you could make t-shirts so that all the world will know you have been on Du for whatever time it is. Is time on DU some sort of badge now? Omg, this actually made me laugh out loud.
"Someone commenting on the obvious"? Wow, so it's "obvious" he's gay?
Somehow I didn't ever notice that before even as a gay person. Gosh, your gaydar must be way better than mine!
I'm in awe of your time here on DU and your ability to see something you consider "obvious."
I guess you missed my next sentence (as if it means anything). If you're going to pretend that's what the poster was saying, have at it and don't forget to post the juvenile emoticons while you're at it. They're so convincing. Welcome to ignore.

(3,635 posts)when a straight person says they like someone of the opposite sex who is gay, others will chime in with 'you know he/she is gay, don't you?' so the poster likely said that in anticipation of such responses.
ive also heard from gay/lesbian friends (especially those who are viewed as conventionally attractive) that they get tired of attention from straights.

(16,646 posts)I've never been overly impressed, but the honest truth is that I don't think the format works well for him. Actually, it's not even "his" format. It is the CNN/24 hr news channel format of bring on 3 or 4 people of limited knowledge on a subject and go "around the table" in 10 minute segments discussing issues on the most superficial level. And some of the formats seem to enjoy the occasional break into a yell-fest.
I know why they do it, but it really is counterproductive to the needs of our society.

(14,811 posts)The format of having 10 opposing panelists on every CNN show, and giving the same RW's a platform to spew their bullshit is nauseating. Lemon's occasional outrage obviously impresses others more than me I guess.
