Kremlin confirms Trumps lawyer reached out about deal - Emailgate?

Here's hoping we have a Trump scandal called EmailGate ...

Now that Congress has this e-mail in evidence, of course they have to admit to the e-mail existing.

MOSCOW (AP) — The Kremlin on Wednesday confirmed that President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer reached out to them during the 2016 presidential campaign, seeking help for a business project in Russia.

In a statement to the House Intelligence Committee investigating Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen said Monday the president’s company pursued a project in Moscow during the Republican primary. He said the plan was abandoned for various reasons.

President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, told reporters in Moscow on Wednesday that they received Cohen’s email, which was sent to the press office’s general email address. Peskov said it was one of many emails the Kremlin press office gets — since its email address is available online — and that the Kremlin did not reply to it.

Cohen said he worked on the real estate proposal with Felix Sater, a Russia-born associate who he said claimed to have deep connections in Moscow. ......................

It is not the first time, however, that Cohen has moved from the periphery of the Russian melodrama to its center. Earlier this year, The New York Times reported that Cohen had coordinated with fired former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort, who has his own long-standing ties to Russia; pro-Putin Ukrainian parliamentarian Andrii V. Artemenko; and Felix Sater*, a Russian-born real-estate developer and convicted felon who has worked with Trump, to hand-deliver a “peace plan for Ukraine and Russia” to Flynn, weeks before Flynn resigned over his communications with a Russian official. (Cohen has denied delivering the plan to Flynn.) Cohen was also a major presence in the unverified intelligence dossier on Trump, compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele, that made the rounds in Washington and is currently being examined by intelligence officials. (U.S. investigators have since corroborated some details of that document.) According to the dossier, Cohen served as a liaison between Trump and Russia, attending a meeting in Prague to discuss Russian hacking of Democratic targets. Cohen said he was taking his son to meet with the University of Southern California’s baseball coach when the Prague meeting supposedly occurred. He called the allegations from the dossier “laughably false.”

Cohen is their go-to-guy to pass along plans to take over Ukraine, but they just delete his e-mails? Yeah, right.
