And so are the Northern VA pump prices.
When Harvey reformed into a tropical depression, wholesale gasoline was about $1.50 a gallon.
Within 2 days, it went up to $1.55.
Late yesterday, it had reached $1.66.
Today, it reached 1.76 (as I type).
Pump price change over 2 days:
Major's pumps: from about $2.23-$2.29 to $2.39-$2.49
Discount gas stations: from about $2.15-$2.19 to $2.47-$2.57

(10,429 posts)I'd rather see $1/gallon tax that can ONLY be spent on roads, bridges, public transportation etc than just a windfall for the same oil companies whose pollution contributes to the cause of storms like Harvey.

(37,748 posts)What specifically leads you to believe $4 gas won't hurt anyone at all, in any way imaginable?
As far as I can tell, it would be your hubris, a purposeful lie on your aprt, or simply a statement based on a dramatic lack of relevant knowledge.
But no doubt, you'll provide the relevant and peer-reviewed analysis to validate your unsupported premise, yes?
