Trump never believed he'd be elected, but knew his high profile would help line his pockets and get the mob ( Russian ) off his back, so he was sloppy about his dealings. Now, all his other shady activities are being exposed, including money laundering tax evasion and fraud.
Manafort is the facilitator here. Flynn's anger w/ being dumped by Obama made him vulnerable and willing. Who ever got the sanctions pledge removed from the Republican platform is the key to the compromise.
