General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsDear DU Admin, please consider limiting Hillary vs Bernie infighting threads
This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by NH Ethylene (a host of the General Discussion forum).
With Hillary's book - What Happened - soon to be released, the H vs B dissing is ramping up like a coming storm.
In the past post primaries on DU, I believe Skinner set a date and posted after (said date) all infighting would either cease or move to it's own section outside the main discussion forums.
Winning in 2018 and beginning to reverse the fascist, bigoted, and radically unstable/incompetent regime of tRump needs all hands on deck and a laser beam focus.
Thanks for your consideration!

(7,228 posts)Your fear about 2018 makes sense; I have it too. Most of us could not fathom tRump winning the electoral college (well, with help via the Putin).
We hopefully can agree to disagree about the rights and wrongs of 2016, move on, and put all energies into defeating any and ALL tRump enablers!!

I know because I'm a judge to too many alerts against those who criticize them. Daily. This amounts to trolling in the name of uniformity.

We can have unity without the dogged press for uniformity.

(7,228 posts)Short version:
I worked full-time in education for almost 20 years with OK, but covered benefits via the state. I (and many others) were laid off after a major school bond got voted down. I then worked 3 PT teaching gigs, but did not receive any medical benefits. In 2015, I started losing feeling in both feet/legs and experienced lots of pain over the course of the year. Turned out I needed a (lumbar) fusion in 2016 to stabilize my spine. I am grateful beyond measure for the ACA and thankfully, can walk and play again (with a few restrictions).
Yes, literal survival is on our minds. tRump makes daily headlines with his bullshit lies and drama, though all the while other actions off the radar (per your McCain link) are happening to erode our civil liberties, environment, and quality of life.
Working together to combat the insanity is a must.

I think she is positioning for 2020 and she is trying to whip people into line

(21,506 posts)Skinner is a rabid Clinton fan. The lopsided hides are all one needs to recognize that. I post critically of both of them but it is the Clinton posts that get hidden every single time. I am getting to the point I am beginning to doubt the usefulness of this site it is becoming an echo chamber. It was always an echo chamber but now the echo can't even be challenged when it is clearly nonsense.
There are certainly times when an echo chamber is nice but when it starts completely twisting reality it has past it's usefulness.

(10,237 posts)While I genuinely detest Back Bench Bernie, I'll be keeping my powder dry as far as he's concerned.
Up here in Maine I'll be focusing on getting a Democratic governor, hopefully our AG Janet Mills, to replace the "glorious" Paul LePage.
In 2020,I am supporting the Democratic nominee whomever he or she may be. At this juncture, I most like Sens. Gillebrand and Harris, I'm intrigued by Gov. Cuomo and, if our nominee is a male, I hope that Sen. Duckworth is on the ticket. That being said, I don't care if we nominate a dried up sack of monkey shit. The monkey shit will STILL be better than Donald Trump.
I hope we can all come together to accomplish this goal. I remember the divisions of 1968 and 1972. they were NOT pretty and look what we got from it...Nixon and Reagan. No friggin thank you!!!
PEACE!

I have been wondering for awhile where ARE the admins, or Earle and Skinner? Refighting the primaries has been going on way too long. And its usually OPs against Bernie, and everyone that supported him.
Every time Trump trumps himself, we get at least one "thanks Bernie" OP.
Or every time someone posts something positive Bernie does, or some public statement against Trump, we get the thread flooded with counter posts about what a terrible person he is. Or that they won't even take him seriously until he officially joins the Dems.
And gawd help us if Bernie dares to bring up criticisms of the Democratic party, because, you know, they've been losers everywhere across the country for years now. Hell hath seen no fury.
People....Bernie is our ally. He works with us. He is a candid and loud voice against Trump. He is still wildly popular. We can use that...even if you don't personally like the man. I swear, way more percent of elected Democrats are willing to work with him than on DU. Time to stop projecting Hillary's loss on Bernie or his supporters because he dared to run on a message that appealed to more people than you expected it to.
