The Master of Diversion Strikes Again...

This time, with the national anthem.

With all the bad news coming out, he was able to create an issue where there was none. Where there were a few kneeling to protest police injustice, Trump was able to totally switch the issue to make it about the national anthem?? He simply thought it was the wrong place to protest - as if there was ever a right place to protest?

It was downright scary the way he was able to create and control the message. He put the owners and the players in the NFL on the defensive. The owners decided to stand with the players.

Today, they conceded their point of protest and decided to stand for the national anthem. Patriotism wins again.

3. The compliant corporate media allows Trump to divert.

They could choose to focus on Puerto Rico, or the terrible consequences of the latest iteration of supply side economic idiocy, but the media chooses where to focus their attention.

5. I wish for once that the media and the entire country would ignore his stupid diversions

when there are so many more important concerns. I will never understand the importance Americans place on sports, especially football or why anyone would elevate the games by considering the national anthem so necessary to start every game.

I mean go back to 2015 when he declares his intent. How many days would you say that his actions or comments have been the lead news story of the day? It'd probably be easier to count the days it wasn't. He has the ability to suck all the air out of the room because of the way the media covers him.
