out. She laughed like anyone that knows people make mistakes sometimes. Olbermann had screw ups that I might not have even noticed had he not called attention to them. He seemed to feel like he had to make a display of his displeasure to rub their nose in it. He would have done better to let it go by smoothly and work out the bug/s later. Especially when he may have been part of the reason everything else had to be run tight fisted.

Networks were always afraid of displeasing their sponsors; it's very rare to find newsmen like Murrow & Olbermann who will buck the system when they feel strongly that they are right & the network powers are just wrong.

Someone at Current made that remark everyone is replaceable but that is not literally true. It is true that any one warm body can replace another but as for as quality of performance, Keith Olbermann is in a league of his own. No one can replace him. There have been several times I have missed his commentary so much. One of those was during the Wisconsin recall.

Another thing I wonder about is that lawsuit. Suddenly, everything went quiet. I am wondering if a settlement was reached or if a trial is in the making.

Everyone talks about Keith's mistakes and his ego, but he was correct about the technical glitches. I watched his show religiously and some I saw some for myself. They were worse than the usual ones you see on other networks. And not paying for the electric bill -- there is no excuse for that. Keith Olbermann is such a perfectionist who demands so much for himself I think he had zero ability to tolerate underperformance in those around him.

It is simply a shame that for the benefit of everyone, Current could not have seen fit to try and reach some approachable solution to the problems. Keith had several stellar "friends" and guests on his show, and those people were hurt as well. They were innocent bystanders.

As far as ego is concerned, I don't think anyone could strive to be a top-notch commentator in the big leagues without a super supply of confidence. Those are tremendously big jobs with horrendous schedules and stresses. It is also true networks are run with personnel of equally large egos. It is a pretty tricky terrain for all.

I certainly hope to see and hear Keith Olbermann again soon, but I don't even hear any rumors any more. Maybe he is not even trying too hard because he feels he needs a rest. He has suffered some big losses in recent years besides changing jobs. All of these are in the top ten stressors. I guess he needs some time. It happens to us all from time to time.

Think how much it would take out of you keep putting out that show for 10 years. Rachel Maddow is interesting but with her it's mostly an information dump. Keith was entertaining.

and he lost his Mom about a year or a year and one-half before that. Then he left his job. These are all in the top ten stressors. I really think he just needs some time to regroup and then he hopefully will come roaring back. He is desperately needed during this election year.

Eliot Spitzer is okay and he does a good job calling out both sides for their BS, but his show is kinda boring. I prefer the Ed Show.

Just doesn't seem right without his voice, especially with so much going on right now. I also watched him on ABC those couple of Sundays but he needs and yes he so deserves so much more than that. I hope he gets back on air soon as he is truly missed. Just doesn't seem the same without him. Sigh!

It is Current TV that has become the mainstay of my tv news watching, thanks to Keith... Spitzer has become better in Keith's old slot, especially now that linkage to the banking terrorism world wide is beginning to rear its ugly face as he calls them all out, inviting better and better guests.

Still, Olbermann had that ability to call the people to action, something we are once again in the middle of. Perhaps he'll rise out of a new media, since the few who watch Current or MSNBC shows pale when compared to the of corporatism of anything in the mainstream.

He's not done... and neither are we.

I'm on late October 2010, the Democrats are about to get shellacked, and Keith is still on the air. And yeah, I really wish he hasn't left MSNBC!a

I do too. I wish MSNBC would hire him back. He made that channel what it is today. Keith Olberman didn't take any crap from lying ass conservatives. That's why they (CONS) hate him, and why we (Progressives) love him. The real kicker would be if the ole Aussie media mogul Rupert Murdoch himself hired Keith at Fox.
